Don’t Let You Backflow Assembly Freeze This Winter.

  1. Shut off the water supply to the assembly.

  2. Drain it by opening the test cocks a quarter turn.

  3. Leave the shutoff valves at a 45 degree angle so no water is trapped.

  4. Insulate the assembly.

Water left inside an assembly can freeze, expand, and crack the body or the shutoff valves, and an assembly damaged that way has to be repaired or replaced before it can be tested.
